The award, which is nationally recognised signifies the high standards and effective
interventions delivered through our one to one and group based mentoring. For more information on the 10 elements which we had to achieve for the award visit the Mentoring and Befriending website.
After undertaking a self assessment; assessor Andrew Brookfield from the Mentoring and
Befriending Foundation spent three days with our team interviewing mentors, mentees and staff at Our Place Community Hub and within our schools. Andrew said ‘The Our Place Mentoring Scheme demonstrates all the required elements of an effective and successful mentoring project. The scheme has a clearly planned, sustainable and monitored project with strong support mechanisms for both mentors and mentees. The value of the project to the mentees and mentors was made very clear during the assessment process.’
